Celtic Druid Goddess Scathach

Celtic mythological legend Scathach was a survivor. Dark shadowy past. Self-defense expert. Lived alone. Not much is written about her in the historical record, or in mythical poems. I read between the lines of what has been written about her and reconstruct the most likely and probably scenario, that she endured, survived, childhood sexual abuse, and thus could never form a lasting relationship with a man, had tremendous trust issues with men, and liked to kill them. In this episode with Scathach, we learn things about her, such as she doesn’t like to be touched. Had enough touching.

She speaks in Irish Gaelic here in this episode. Though she lived on the Isle of Skye in a castle on the ocean with a narrow stone bridge to it, I’m giving her an Irish Gaelic language because the Scots are Irish and vice versa, there is only 12 miles between Ireland and Mull of Kintyre in Scotland.

Scathach is a legendary trainer of Celtic warriors, including Cuchulainn here. She would train them in the Art of the Celtic Sword a form of Sacred sword kata, ritual sword performance.
